POLITICAL METAPHORS THE EAST LIVES BY

 

The article compares Asian and Western traditions of metaphorical conceptualization of political reality. Despite the intercultural isomorphism of metaphorical models, there exists a number of Asian peculiarities. It is argued that while metaphorical masculinization of “Other” dominates Western political communication, metaphorical feminization of “Other” prevails in Asian political discourse.
